Hooligans Farm is a small family farm located in Nuevo, CA. In addition to our herd of 5 little boys of the human variety we raise a herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, a lone resident Nubian, a flock of laying hens, 2 LGDs, and a cattle dog. Goats have been a part of our lives for nearly 20 years, but it is only recently that we have made the jump into the wondrous Nigerian Dwarf breed. Though 2016 was officially our first year in competitive dairy goats and Nigerians, we took the plunge head first participating in both Linear Appraisal and 305 milk test through DHI. We are learning more each day and have added some lovely does to the herd this year.
Before we had Nigerians we raised Boers, Alpines, and a handful of Nubians. As our family grew we looked for a more practical and easy to manage goat; the Nigerian Dwarf breed fit that bill perfectly. We can still get quality milk to feed our family and use in our handcrafted goat milk products, but our feed bill is smaller and so is the workload. In addition, our goats are easily managed by our children and the hobby can now truly be a family affair.
We have been making cold process goat milk soaps for a few years now and sell locally at craft shows. We have a line of soaps made all naturally and free of dyes with essential oils. We also have a line of soaps made with fragrance oils. We find that a little of each leaves something for everyone to enjoy! We have recently expanded our soap line to include salt and sugar scrubs, and lotion bars in a multitude of delicious scents. Nigerian Dwarf milk is extra delightful in our bath and body products, delivering a creamy, gentle, skin-loving lather to our soaps.
We hope you enjoy browsing our website and please feel free to let us know if you have any questions; we are always happy to help!
